Having released their initial products last year during the beginning of the pandemic, they worked hard behind the scenes to build their presence online and have proved to be popular with their multiple award nominations and recent wins of Silver and Green in The Beauty Bible Awards. After many months of testing, they are delighted to release six new products across the production line.
Co-founded by Justine O’Hanlon who suffers from hormonal acne due to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Poko products are made with natural ingredients and are free from harsh chemicals. On why they chose the new additions to the collection, she says, “Poko has always worked towards the goal of improving your skin. Whatever your struggle is, the new range expands on this mantra to make sure that we are hitting issues that aren’t yet available in our current range. For example, we developed the Azelaic Spot Gel specifically to help people reduce the appearance of blemishes and refine their pores. We got a lot of feedback requesting for a fuller range since they loved our first collection so we did some market research and developed products that spoke to our range the most but allowed for a more Poko-centric routine.”
Starting with the essentials, Poko’s new Purifying Gel Cleanser can be used every day as it gently cleanses the skin for better hydration. Mixing five highly effective AHAs: glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, citric acid with niacinamide and natural oils, the cleanser improves your skin appearance and texture.
To ensure any last traces of dirt and impurities are removed from your skin, Poko formulated their Brightening Rosewater Toner with a combination of medical-grade Azelaic acid with premium floral waters. This new addition to Poko’s range can positively impact the appearance and tightness of your pores which can help make your skin look smoother.
Using natural sugars to retain moisture, Poko’s new Light Hydrating Moisturiser is perfect for moisturising the face and can last up to 72 hours. It can also be used for after-sun treatment and can be applied as an aftershave.
With the goal of developing products that would work on oily and combination skin, the next additions to Poko’s new collection helps keep skin balanced, while reinforcing the skin’s natural moisture barrier and were formulated to address breakouts, spots and redness.
Poko’s Azelaic Spot Gel contains medical-grade azelaic acid to clear up and brighten your skin. It also contains retinol to boost collagen production and helps refine pores, reduces acne and supports speed cell turnover to give your skin a dewy look.
To help promote healthy skin cell growth, the new range also includes Poko’s AHA Exfoliating Treatment which can help with smoother skin as it works to melt away dead skin cells and reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation, scars and fine lines.
The last product on their new range utilises hemp oil and other natural oils to address psoriasis and eczema symptoms. Poko’s Hempsoriasis Balm is a light wax that can be used on the face, and all parts of the body including the scalp. It can be used every day to keep your skin moisturised and provides fast relief for flared, irritated and itchy skin.
